Meet the team


Graham Urwin - Managing Director

 

Graham has been the driving force behind Graline Construction since 1974, making him the heart and soul of the company. Having been in the industry for over 40 years, means that he has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the building industry. Graham has been part of many fantastic building projects, with one winning Graline the 2012 Regional Master Builder of the Year Award in Energy Efficiency. 


Graham has been an active member of the Federation of Master Builders Solihull Business Group for many years, helping to promote the industry. He is also fortunate enough to sit on the Federation of Master Builders National Board and has been the Regional President.  

Tom Poppitt - Director & Plumbing Engineer


Tom is a Director of Graline Construction and our Level 3 advanced plumbing engineer. He joined the company in 2013 and showed a real passion for the construction industry and especially plumbing. 


Tom also has a Level 2 qualification in wall and floor tiling and so specialises in complete bathroom refits, while being a good all rounder. 



 Ian Smart - Director & Electrical Engineer


Ian is a Director of Graline Construction and our Level 3 electrical engineer. He has been in the company since 2008 and has worked hard to become trained in many different skills, but finding a real passion for both carpentry and electrics. He has gained a 2391 City & Guilds Inspection Testing qualification, which is highly respected within the electrical industry, as well as a Level 2 Diploma in site carpentry.       


His biggest achievement was winning the 2012 Federation of Master Builders - Regional Apprentice of the Year Award, for his outstanding work on our Ullenhall project.   

Kathryn Poppitt - Business Development Manager


Kathryn is based at the Graline Construction office and is the first point of contact for all enquires. She has good knowledge of the company and has a real passion for business and the construction industry. She has previously gained invaluable experience in the property sector and enjoys the challenges it can bring.


Kathryn also sits on the Regional Board for the Federation of Master Builders where she gets to keep up to date with industry developments.     



Ian - Site Manager


Ian is one of Graline Constructions longest standing employees having been in the company since 1997. He has become an integral part of the Graline team and has worked hard to become site manager. 


Ian is a multi skilled craftsman and has extensive knowledge of the construction industry. He has a particular interest in carpentry and joinery, which he is highly qualified in.  



Dave - Bricklayer 


Dave is Graline Constructions skilled bricklayer and has gained much experience in a variety of skills having worked for the company for many years. Dave’s skills have developed to include plastering, tiling and drainage which are a great asset to the company.



James - Plumber


James is Graline Constructions plumber. After showing passion for the trade James has recently completed his Level 2 City and Guilds apprenticeship qualification while working closely with our plumbing engineer. James continues to show his talent for the trade and is a great asset to the team. 


Connor - Electrical Apprentice 


Connor is Graline Constructions electrical apprentice. Connor has shown a keen interest in electrics and has already completed his Electrical Installations Building and Structures Level 3 Diploma. Connor works closely with our Electrical Director to continually improve on his electrical abilities. 


Fynn - Carpentry Apprentice


Fynn is one of the newest members of our team. He has shown great potential and enthusiasm for the industry and will start working towards his Level 2 City and Guilds apprenticeship soon. We look forward to helping Fynn start is career in construction. 

 

Tom - General Labourer


Tom is Graline Constructions general labourer. Assisting all of the different tradesmen while ensuring the site is clean and tidy means he has become vital to the running of any site. Tom continues to develop his skills and show talent for a successful career in construction.
